Internal Family Systems
Meeting every part of you with curiosity, compassion and care
What is it?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that understands the human psyche as a constellation of different “parts,” each carrying its own perspectives, emotions, and roles. Some parts step in as protectors, keeping us safe in moments of stress, while others may hold the pain of earlier experiences, waiting to be seen and cared for. Beneath all of these layers is the Self — a calm, compassionate, and wise center that has never been damaged, and which can gently guide the healing process.
Rather than attempting to silence or push away these parts, IFS invites us to turn toward them with curiosity and respect. In this space of listening, protective strategies soften, exiled pain can be acknowledged, and long-held burdens begin to release. Over time, this inner dialogue restores balance and harmony within the system, allowing us to feel more integrated and whole.
The essence of IFS is simple yet profound: when we relate to all aspects of ourselves with compassion, we create the conditions for deep healing, resilience, and transformation.
How it Works
IFS is a collaborative process that gently guides you into relationship with your inner world. In session, we slow down, turn inward, and invite your “parts” — the protective voices, the exiled pains, the striving managers — to step forward and be heard. With curiosity and compassion, these parts reveal why they do what they do, and what they truly need.
As the Self begins to lead the way, protectors can soften, wounds can be witnessed, and long-held burdens can finally be released. This work doesn’t push or force; instead, it unfolds at the pace your system is ready for, creating safety for even the most hidden parts of you to emerge.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, IFS is experiential: you don’t just talk about your struggles, you enter into direct relationship with them. This creates profound opportunities for healing, clarity, and a deep sense of inner harmony.

Integration In My Practice
Internal Family Systems is both a stand-alone practice and a core thread woven through much of my work. At times, a full session may be devoted entirely to IFS, allowing space to meet and unburden parts in depth. More often, however, IFS flows seamlessly with other modalities — for example, opening a session with IFS before moving into breathwork, or using it in preparation and integration around Kambo or psychedelic journeys.
By combining IFS with somatic practices, the process becomes deeply embodied: parts are not just spoken with, but also felt and released through the body. This integrative approach creates a holistic pathway where mind, body, and spirit are each invited into the healing journey.
Every client’s process is unique, and my role is to listen carefully, follow what emerges, and weave together the modalities that will serve your unfolding in the most supportive way.
