Emotional Freedom Technique

“Tapping”

Holistic transformation at your own fingertips

What is EFT Tapping?

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), commonly called “tapping,” is a mind-body practice that combines gentle tapping on acupressure points with mindful attention to thoughts, feelings, and memories. Rooted in both ancient meridian theory and modern psychology, it helps calm the nervous system, release stored emotional energy, and rewire limiting beliefs.

During an EFT session, you are guided to lightly tap on specific points along the face, upper body, and hands while bringing awareness to whatever you are holding — whether it’s stress, pain, or an old story. The combination of touch and presence signals safety to the body, reduces the stress response, and allows emotions and memories to be processed without overwhelm.

Simple yet powerful, tapping can provide immediate relief from tension and emotional intensity while also supporting lasting transformation over time. It’s a practice that can stand alone, or flow seamlessly into other modalities like breathwork, Internal Family Systems, Kambo, and psychedelic preparation or integration.

How it works?

EFT works by combining gentle tapping on acupressure points with mindful focus on the emotions, memories, or beliefs that feel charged. This simple pattern of touch signals safety to the body, soothing the amygdala and calming the stress response, while the mindful attention allows the nervous system to reprocess what has been held.

In a session, I’ll guide you to name what you’re noticing — whether that’s a difficult emotion, a limiting belief, or physical tension — while tapping through a series of points on the face, chest, and hands. As the tapping rhythm unfolds, the body’s energy system begins to reset, emotions often soften, and clarity arises naturally.

This process doesn’t push or override; it gently unwinds stuck energy at a pace that feels safe. Over time, the practice helps reduce emotional intensity, release old patterns, and create new pathways of resilience and self-compassion.

Benefits of EFT Tapping

  • Reduce stress and anxiety — calm the body’s stress response and bring the nervous system back into balance.

  • Release emotional intensity — soften the charge around painful memories, beliefs, or situations.

  • Support trauma resolution — process difficult experiences safely without overwhelm.

  • Shift limiting beliefs — reframe the stories that keep you stuck and open space for new possibilities.

  • Improve emotional regulation — cultivate tools to meet challenges with greater ease and resilience.

  • Ease physical tension — address the emotional roots of somatic symptoms, bringing more flow to the body.

  • Strengthen self-compassion — create a deeper sense of acceptance and kindness toward yourself.

Integration In My Practice

EFT Tapping is often a bridge in my work — a way of softening the nervous system and preparing the ground for deeper processes. At times, it stands alone as a complete session, offering clarity and relief on its own. More often, though, it is woven into the larger flow of healing.

I may use tapping at the beginning of a session to ease protectors before moving into Internal Family Systems, or to calm the body before entering breathwork. It can also be a powerful prelude to Kambo, helping clients arrive in a more centered and grounded state. In integration work after psychedelic journeys, tapping provides a gentle way to process emotions and settle insights into the body.

Woven with care, EFT becomes one thread in a larger tapestry — supporting release, balance, and the return to your true Self.
